Having practiced, studied, and taught Raja yoga and Advaita Vedanta for almost thirty years, Joan has been tutored in Traditional Kundalini Science since being initiated as a brahmacharini (monastic) in the Shankaracharya tradition in 1987. She is the designated successor in the lineage of Traditional Kundalini Science specialists represented by Swami Chandrasekharanand Saraswati and is the author of Kundalini Vidya, The Science of Spiritual Transformation. Her doctoral dissertation investigated the effects of Hatha yoga asanas and diaphragmatic breath awareness on stress.
Joan will be visiting Seattle August 21-23 to present a series of lectures and a full day seminar on Traditional Kundalini Science. Her seminar is for the sincere seeker who feels they have reached a plateau in their spiritual experience or feels blocked or stuck. Joan specializes in providing very focused and individualized interventions designed to overcome the hurdle and advance to a higher level. She works from a universal model that explains spiritual process from beginning to end in a systematic and scientific way. Her methods consist of personalized practices including postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and diet and lifestyle.
